This is rather amusing, as I had a small part in convincing the asians of the demand for a new dual layer OT set. Of course, they decided to do their own transfer and it came out poorly. I even offered to send them copies of my discs through a contact in Malaysia and have them do their own transfer of the bonus footage, but it never happened. A contact of mine here in the USA gave them a list of requirements, and only about half of them were met. The requirements included PCM original audio (along with their request to do a fake 5.1), no fake DTS, no asian subtitles, a commentary track, a high video bitrate and as many extra features as possible on a DVD9. Well, they got some of it right, and as Rowman set it is better than the old asian OT set from 2000, but it is still mediocre compared to the 2 sets floating around here. The asian pirates who made the set are more interested in profit margins than preserving classic movies in their true format or audio/video quality. I haven't actually seen it yet since my samples have not arrived but I can safely say I will have no part in selling it due to its inferior nature. It doesn't really matter since I have already mentioned before that work has begun on a new DVD9 set which will be the penultimate transfer outside of a professional A/V lab.
