Lol, I’ve been mostly away and still haven’t checked out your work print you sent me … but now that you got the actual V2 out … could I get it? I plan on watching Last Jedi with my family before we see the new one. (They’ve just seen it once in theaters … but I can’t make the watch the original cut … too unkind…

“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”

Watched V2 last night. Excellent work once again! The Canto Bight balcony extension fixed the last lingering issues I had with pacing, and Phasma’s corpse was absolutely seamless and an excellent touch!

hi poppasketti, your vision for tlj seems great, and almost the same as what I imagined the original should’ve been. I would love to see the full version of your edit. So if you could, please send me a link for the 2gb version. Thanks

Just watched the V2 (I also had seen the V1 beforehand). Excellent edit! The fan-made VFX work was really well done too.

My only major complaint (which I had for V1 and is still the case for V2) is that the reinserted “Where We Belong” deleted scene has the volume noticeably higher than the rest of the film. When I was playing this on my surround system I had to turn the volume 5 levels down during that scene just to make the dialogue at the same volume as the dialogue in the rest of the film.

babbygrill, pm sent!

InitAbsolute, thanks for the feedback and that note about the volume. I’ll have to check that again, thank you! To be clear, are you talking about the Poe/Finn hallway scene or the Finn/Rose shuttle scene?

The shuttle scene.

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Thanks! I will take another look at the mix there. It will be a few days before I am home. If I make a fix, I will repost the files with updated dates, and also make a new folder with just the DTS and AC-3 files for those who would rather remux the audio themselves to save download time.

Very good job with V2! The new Canto Bight scene works very well IMO!

To all who had a hand in V2 thank you. V1 was already great but the additions on canto with the slave boy help give that storyline more meaning and tie in better with the ending. And phasma’s body-- well that’s just icing on the cake. Looking forward to seeing what can be done to clean up TROS. Hopefully poppasketti will be involved in that effort as well.

Hey, thank you both and happy holidays!

The credit for the additional Canto Bight material must go entirely to Hal 9000 and jarbear for Hal 9000’s Legendary edit.

I’m so glad V2 is going well! It looks like there will need to be some adjustments down the road to help set up TROS, and possibly an interim update to adjust audio levels in the shuttle scene.

For TROS, I want to look at hinting at Palpatine a couple of times after the battle of Crait ends, either using the radio or end credits (or both). I think that’s precisely what was always missing from the end of TLJ, because the way it ended left nothing to anticipate for TROS.

It would be ok to hint of a sinister and mysterious dark force out there for Ren to go investigate. But better to not imply it’s Palpatine. He should have never been a part of the trailers, Fornite, or the opening crawl. Imagine if they had kept that reveal a secret. I think the key to a good TROS edit is to see how long the reveal of Palp can be reasonably delayed.

Glad to hear it! I’m looking forward to seeing some creative ideas on how to do this, it’s not going to be easy!

My personal preference would be to have the message from the Palpatine audio from Fortnite used in a radio broadcast in the Battle of Crait after Luke dies. If possible, have it appear that only Kylo Ren hears the broadcast.
