'Imperial March' during military parade

guys, forgive me if I made any blooper in this post, I'm still laughing and tears in my eyes make it hard to type properly...

Today we celebrate Army Day here, in Poland, anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw 1920, when we repelled Soviet army going west to spread the communistic revolution all over the Europe.
The celebration featured usual patriotic stuff: speeches full of pathos, soldiers saluting the fallen at "Tomb of Unknown Soldier", historical marches etc. - you know the drill.

At the end of the event celebration became slightly less official and we could see soldiers showing off their skills in muster, presenting their rifles, regrouping quickly in various formations etc., I'll bet you've seen that too. Usually the marches that are played at that point are more "frivolous", "parade-like"... I was surprised that military orchestra started playing marches which are... movie themes! Among them was the "Raiders' March" (from Indiana Jones trilogy), one of my favorite pieces by John Williams, so you can imagine my excitation - I joked to my parents (who were also watching TV) : "...well, the only thing they could add would be 'Imperial March...' "....

...AND THAT'S WHEN THEY STARTED PLAYING IT!

Seeing soldiers marching to the rhythm of "Darth Vader's Theme" was a view to behold Precious!

I had a blast watching that show! My whole family performed a "classic ROTFL"!

I only wish I had taped it... *sigh*
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

What? No "Duel of the Fates"? With the military generals doing the singing?

Must have been funny, seeing the army march to the Imperial March. Quite ironic also, since this musical piece is usually associated with tyrany and evil and stuff...

Yup, I can imagine reaction of the pro-state press in certain neighboring countries blaming us for "imperialistic provocation backed by USA" (to quote their propaganda language).

My school's band plays the Imperial March at all the sporting events. I'm not quite sure how to feel about that...

There is no lingerie in space…

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

At my friend's wedding, he had a friend playing the organ for the ceremony...so before and after the wedding, the organ player played various church themes, etc...when suddenly, I hear...Indiana Jones? Yep, he did it...and the Imperial March...and other John Williams themes all mixed in. That was funny...although I think I was the only one to notice.

If, for some reason, I get married, I would make the whole wedding a spoof of Star Wars.

The church would look like Cloud City and Lobot would do the reception and show everyone where to be (he will merely look back and point to the way). As the wedding begins, the bride would make a hole at the church's door with that flame thing, stormtroopers would come in, and then she would come in, as the ANH Vader theme is played. The priest would look and sound like Grand Moff Tarkin.

"In a way, you have determined that this is going to be your wife. Now, I have grown tired of asking and this will be the last time, do you accept this woman as your wife?"

"I... I..."

"Do you prefer another wife? A military wife? Then answer the question!"

"I do..."

"You see, he can be resonable. You may proceed as planned and kiss the wife"

Wife: "What? You didn't ask me!"

"You're far too trusty."

My future mother-in-law would be the Emperor.

"Good... Good... I feel like I have not lost a daughter... but gained a son... It is your destiny... Yes... I can feel your anger!"

The wedding cake would be in the shape of Han Solo frozen in carbonite. The band playing would be dressed as the cantina alien band.

I can go on and on all night with this joke....

Go for it, Ric. I incorporated Princess Leia's theme into the prelude music, but it basically fit with the motif of the wedding: she walked in to the march from "Cinderella."

But be careful with the Imperial March. Everybody I've known or heard of who used it at some point in their wedding wound up divorced. Hell, I should have played it the first time around; I swear that woman was pure Sith.
