I think this is some of the silliest stuff I’ve seen in a long time. FGR is one of the best contributors to this site. He made an off color comment 4 years ago. Christ, We’re all adults… nobody was attacked or hurt or bullied. Just call him an idiot and move on, or just ignore it. Nothing he did, unless I’m missing something, deserved being cut off from contributing here and banned.
There are a ton of talented banned members I and I think a lot of the community miss, the best example that comes to mind is Frink. But specifically in FGR’s case though, that action can not be tolerated, if it was it would create a hostile environment for LGBT faneditors, which is not something we need.
Frankly, it started off as an off-color comment, but as that thread kept going it became clear it wasn’t just that. Plus, it’s clear there’s stuff going on in PMs that they’re not showing us either out of respect for FGR, or out of a desire not to air dirty laundry. We definitely know FGR doubled down on what he did. Like what JKMaxx said, if he owned up to what he did or at the very least didn’t pull all this shit, then it would be a different story. Maybe he wouldn’t be banned. But he’s denying his actions, making sock accounts, trashing the mods who never did anything wrong all the while falsely accusing them of doing the same to him, and so I don’t really think I’ll be shedding any tears for him.
