It’s ascended to my favourite Death Grips album as of late. As always I love Rides vocal performance on all songs, and Flatlander do great with the production side of things. I love the Björk samples on disc one, they fit the music really well and give it an extra layer. There’s actually a tonne more live instrument usage on disc two which is also a nice addition. On GP is a great way to end the album and Death Grips 2.0 provides a great postscript/coda.

Great album, I highly recommend it.

As a big Tool fan I was pretty hyped about this album, and thankfully it turned out to be worth the wait. Obviously since I was five when the last album came out I haven’t eagerly awaited the album for thirteen years, but it’s release still felt like a big event to me.

I enjoyed that all of the songs were ten minutes +, with the exceptions of the interludes, which don’t add a whole lot but are nice to have. It’s almost tradition at this point for Tool albums to have extraneous instrumental interludes. Sadly they aren’t as memorable as pieces like Intermission or Eon Blue Apocalypse from previous albums, but they’re nice to have anyway.

The songs themselves are insanely good, my favourites being Pneuma and 7empest (corny title aside), which seem to be the popular choices across the internet, but really all the songs are incredible.

So far I wouldn’t say that it’s on par with 10 000 Days, my favourite Tool album, but it I still in the same ballpark.

Well worth the wait, I’ve listened to it something like ten times so far.

Not enough people read the EU.

critics and even Reed himself went pretty hard against this album, but it’s very solid for me with great bite.

About The Young Idea: The Very Best Of The Jam

Paul Weller has such great lyrics.

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

For those who haven’t heard it yet, The Who’s new album (WHO) is really stunning and their first full length release of new material since Endless Wire back in 2006. Unlike that album which only fanboys like myself defend, the new album has gotten great reviews across the board and track for track is amazingly solid.

Of course like everything today it’s mastered too loud but is still surprisingly listenable. But it does get my highest recommendation. For longtime fans there are feelings and vibes on here reminiscent of WHO ARE YOU, FACE DANCES and some nice referential bits that range from the early days to even a tinge or two of QUADROPHENIA.

I really am enjoying the deluxe edition and think some if not all the three bonus tracks should be on the standard 11 track album.

(For the -3 people in off topic and -487 people here who care about this sort of music)
I’ve been on a massive underground Glam kick lately. I found the self titled Crimson Glory tape and it absolutely kills. Tons of memorable tracks. Queen of the Masquerade, Valhalla, Azrael and Dream Dancer are some definite standouts. There’s a coupe of filler tracks but this record is fantastic. The production is fantastic but a bit too Caucasian for this kind of music. In other words it sounds a little thin without as much bottom end as it should have. These guys are dead nuts tight musicians and the songs are extremely well written. HIGHLY recommended.

I just listened to an album with an incredibly weird take on old Russian folk songs. Not sure if this is the right thread but could anyone kindly shed some light on it? Because it’s really intriguing, bizarre, and ever mysterious; there’s barely any information on the album.

I’ll reveal the album when someone agrees to help me.

Sincerely sorry if I sound stupid.

just stumbled across this while surfing for new music on youtube and listened to the whole thing …Holy Shit ! This is the same Gary Numan who did the early 80’s song In Cars ! I had no idea he was still around and making music . He now has a dark edgy industrial sound , it’s like he rose from his own ashes as a fiery phoenix to come back with a vengeance . I love this and there is not a bad track on the whole album …easily the best new music I have heard in 20 years…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r36v1grp3I0&list=OLAK5uy_kOQ1bvt5ApKAPQFGazmRi9ie1YsT_lpS4
