He hasn’t died in vain, the Resistance will survive and his heroic actions will spread hope and inspiration throughout the galaxy. I think being ‘respectful’ to fictional characters is a stupid concept, but TLJ actually ends with a moment of immense reverence for Luke’s character.

Moderator Edit… to remove bashing on TLJ in which a reminder was given not to do just this two posts above (there are more relevant threads to do that in the ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ section)…

A quick reminder that the Star Wars Preservation and Star Wars Fan Edit sections of the site are NOT the places to bash on certain eras or aspects of the films, actors, film-makers or owners.

Critiquing a scene in the Star Wars Fan Edits section with the aim of improving it, removing it, altering it etc is perfectly fine. Statements such as ‘Disney sucks’ and ‘this film is so shit no Fan Edit can save it’ etc, is not.

and yet you still continue to bash films in here?

How many times you think moderators will let you do this?

They ask that no-one bash films in here - you can do that in proper threads instead. Yet you carry on bashing the films - and other people - in here. This area is for Fan Edits.

This is more important to you than doing it relevant thread in General Star Wars section?

Wow.

It’s the people demanding an explanation for changing the hair that brought it up. To explain it, it requires criticizing the movie. When we get criticized for doing that and demands for further explanation, we’re going to give further explanation.

You’ve gone much further than that, and continued to bash the films in here - despite being told there are more apt threads to do just that - and this isn’t one of them. Hiding behind “people demanded an explanation for changing the hair” isn’t likely going to cut it - the mods already gave a few possible explanations.

You are just trolling the films in here. Now other members with your comment to Snooker. To a certain extent you are trolling the mods too.

Sorry if I’ve not been up with recent discussions, but what was broken about Holdo’s hair being purple?

Nothing mate.

Though some may want to tackle it as a technical challenge / exercise (apparently it is quite a difficult, labour-intensive task to to do - and get right).

Others don’t like the Holdo character and wish to make changes to her.

An aesthetic choice - some seemingly don’t like (through to some not being able to stand) people having purple hair in their Star Wars space opera / fantasy films.

A few have problems that the purple hair meant that the Holdo character was a lesbian; an oft-mentioned comment when making racist, sexist, homophobic or other derogatory comments on other female characters in the Sequels too.

I like to think most on here doing this change for Edits see it as an aesthetic choice or a technical exercise / challenge…

I think it’s really dishonest to reduce anyone who doesn’t like The Last Jedi to a bunch of politically motivated epithets like “racist,” “sexist,” “homophobic,” etc.

I suggest you read my post again - because I am not sure how you claim to that conclusion based on what I wrote.

“A few have problems that the purple hair meant that the Holdo character was a lesbian; an oft-mentioned comment when making racist, sexist, homophobic or other derogatory comments on other female characters in the Sequels too.”

You said “a few,” but you also said, “oft-mentioned,” and I have zero trust in you or others like you to make the distinction. You’ve defended Johnson for his fan bashing several times. “Oh no, he just doesn’t like the bad ones.” That’s nonsense. It’s essentially a political divide, and I think it’s fine to acknowledge that openly.

Seems it is more important you bash on people for ‘defending Johnson for his fan bashing several times’ in here than hair color.

By Jason ‘defending Johnson’ you mean Jason posting articles where Rian Johnson calls out the toxic fans over their racism, sexism, death threats and chasing actors off social media etc - and yet states he (RJ) has no problem with fans simply disliking or criticizing TLJ.

Not much of a politicial divide there. Just you carrying on bashing the films in here - and taking aim at those that don’t.
