The dialogue in Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars is wooden compared to what? Titanic, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz and ET? I'm just saying that comparing the dialogue from the OT to the PT is unfair. There are plenty of great lines in the OT....

"Not entirely stable? Well I'm glad you're here to tell us these things. Chewy, take the professor to the back and plug him into the hyperdrive."

"Would it help if I got out and pushed?" "It might"

"Do or do not, there is no try."

"I've felt a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of voices screamed out in terror and were suddenly silenced."

"That's cause droids don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookies are known to do that."

"Don't get excited!" "Captain, being held by you isn't quite enough to get me excited." "Sorry, we don't have time for anything else."

"Into the garbage chute flyboy!"

"Will someone get this big walking carpet out of my way?"

"If money is all you love, then that's what you'll receive."

"Governor Tarkin, I should have known it was you holding Vader's leash. I smelled your foul stench when I was brought on board."

"I have altered the deal, PRAY I don't alter it any further."

"I'm looking for someone." "Looking? Found someone you have I would say. mmmm?"

"Then my father is truly dead."

"I'm out of it a little while and everyone gets these dellusions of grandure."

"Whenn 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not."

"I am a Jedi, like my father before me." "So be it, Jedi!"

"I AM YOUR FATHER!!!!!!"

I could go on and on and on.

And in regards to the other comment, I still believe the SW films have not gotten their due. THey didn't win Best Picture, Empire didn't make the AFI list or even get nominated. Nobody in Hollywood has ever ranked SW and Empire as highly as, say, Gone With the Wind or even the Wizard of Oz and I think they should be.
