1080p Blu-Ray copies would certainly be doable, but I don’t know of anyone (including the members of the 4K77 forums) who is capable of authoring and burning a 4K Blu-Ray that is playable in a standalone player. I for one put my 4K copies on a flash drive to plug directly into my TV and watch them through my TV’s built in media player software. Most UHD BR players are capable of this as well.

1080p Blu-ray discs are fine, I just do not currently have the means or knowledge to do it myself. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I would if my BR burner hadn’t taken a crap recently.

Hello there!

Recently found the no-DNR 4K77 whilst wandering the wastes of the internet and LOVED it.

However, I’ve come to learn that the version I watched is the no-DNR “1.0” version, while there exists a no-DNR 1.4 regraded version. Would anyone be able to PM me in the right direction (AKA does anyone have the file)?

Apologies if this goes against any sort of guidelines or something, I’m a bit new here. Thanks guys, and may the Force of others be with you!

is the other site/forum down?

Not currently, it works fine for me.

Many areas of that forum are inaccessible unless you’ve signed up, mind you, and your account has to be manually approved by the admins, so it isn’t an instantaneous thing.

Bluto’s comprehensive and quality ’Guide to Downloading Projects from Usenet’ thread, in the How-To’s and Technical Discussions section of the site, may also be of interest for those members looking to acquire Harmy’s Despecialized Editions - or TN1’s 4K OT Preservation Projects.

I thought the above is also worth mentioning in here to help people find another method of obtaining projects on here.

That is truly superb guide Bluto! Well done and thank you 😃

Tighten Up and then turn it all the way up to 11!

I need to move my sites to a new hosting service.

Basically, after 10+ years of hosting the site on an Unlimited Storage/Unlimited Bandwidth plan, GoDaddy has determined that I have too many files (all the wallpapers, cover art, videos, PDFs, etc.). All of it has to go before they will lift the suspension. They said it is because the platform I’ve been using all these years is being retired and the new platform won’t support this many files, unless I want to pay lots of money for dedicated hosting.

Some of the sites will hopefully be back up later today, including the forum, but the Star Wars and James Bond blog sites will be down for a while - perhaps for a long time. It’ll take me some time to reconfigure them for a cheaper Linux based host.

Hey guys,

I’m trying to find a copy of 4K77 DNR 1080p specifically. Unfortunately I’ve found just about everything but this one (1080p non-DNR, 2160 DNR, 2160 non-DNR), but this one in particular is eluding me and it’s the one I want (don’t own a 4K tv). If anyone could point me in the direction of how to get it, or even be so kind as to provide me a link, it would be really appreciated!

Standard disclaimer that I own the DVDs of the original trilogy. Sorry, I’m sure this gets asked a ton but I’m finding it difficult to navigate the worlds of Usenet, mySpleen, etc. without prior experience…

Have you tried tracking down the 4K77 Blu-Ray ISO? It’s the same as the 1080p DNR MKV, but has an upgraded scan of the opening crawl, so I’d recommend it over the 1080p DNR MKV anyway.

Just wanted to update to say I got helped out thanks to this great community! Love the passion for Star Wars here, not to mention how willing everyone is to help each other track stuff down. May the force be with all of you

What is the difference between Star.Wars.4K77.2160p.no-DNR.35mm.x264-v1.0 and Star.Wars.4K77.2160p.no-DNR.35mm.x264-v1.4?

Author

V1.0 = color (mostly) white balanced to sprocket holes on the scan

V1.4 = applies Sanjuro’s color grade and (I think) includes an updated 4K scan of the crawl (which was a 1080p upscale in V1.0).

Is there a 2160p version of 1.4? I only see 1080p on alt.binaries.starwars

Looking for links to the 4k77 with the cleanest resolution (DNR I believe?) not sure how to navigate all of the torrent sites and all these other sites so if anybody has suggestions or guides to find the link that would be very much appreciated!

Does anyone have a link to the DNR version of 4K77 that I can get?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Hello,
From my understanding the DNR version of 4k77 only had one release whereas the non-DNR version had been colour corrected. I personally prefer the DNR version but I was wondering would I be missing much by not having the colour corrected version. Is there a big difference?

Also I’ve learnt that there are a few different versions of 4K83 DNR but I can’t seem to find them on binsearch.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I’m new to this forum.
