Another contributing factor in the reduction of theater attendance is the increase in home theater technology. Why go out to a movie (spending as much as $40 for tickets and $20 for food. Cost is another factor) when in a few months, you can have the DVD playing on your 42 inch plasma screen with a 5.1 Dolby stereo system?
You know how my family watched the last Super Bowl?? My dad borrowed a digital protector from where he works, put up a screen we had for some really old 8mm films and we now had a 5 foot viewing area. It was pretty cool. I hope we do it again.
