When I eventually play the MGS games, I’m thinking of playing them this way.

METAL GEAR SOLID 2-3 - XBOX 360
METAL GEAR SOLID 4 - GAME MOVIE?
METAL GEAR SOLID PW - 360
METAL GEAR SOLID Ground Zeroes - PS4
METAL GEAR SOLID 5 - PS4

FYI, MGS2 and 3 are best played on a PS2 or PS3 due to their liberal use of pressure controls on the face buttons, which the 360 can’t do. And if you go PS2, make sure you get the Subsistence version of MGS3 for the superior camera.
Also, a “game movie” for 4 is just…no. Play it properly.
Basically, get the cheapest PS3 you can find and the Legacy Collection for 1-4. This also includes Peace Walker. And if the digital code for 1 is expired/used already, you can just get a secondhand PS1 copy since all PS1 games work on any model of PS3.
The PC port of MGS1 isn’t bad, though. At least, from what I remember.
