Can anyone capture HD material? Blade Runner is going to be premiering on HDnet next month. I would cream myself for a dual-layer version of this broadcast!!!

Looks very nice. Great clean layout with plenty of negative space and cool images. Just a couple of spelling issues:

1. Laos Angeles - Los Angeles
2. Rudger Hauer - Rutger Hauer
3. Art Galleryy - Art Gallery

Top effort though and nice touch with the autograph.

Overall a really nice design. I like the use of the three alternate posters on the back, especially the one on the left. I've always loved that smoking-Asian-girl billboard.

A few more typos I noticed: In the block talking about the laserdisc transfer, the plural of company is "companies." In the credits block, you omitted Hampton Fancher's last name in the executive producers list, and the effects supervisor's last name is spelled "Trumbull."

It's a blessing/curse thing I've had since I was a kid, sort of a combination of OCD and intermittent photographic memory. That guy who calls himself ADigitalMan only sharpened it when he talked me into working for him at our college newspaper years ago.

I really like the use of the posters on the back as well, if only for the fact that I've never seen clear, good-quality pics of them. You wouldn't happen to have hi-res scans of those posters would you?

I walked into that one didn't I

Ok, is this level of geekiness proof?

This was my previous watch (the strap disintegrated but it still works), I had to re-solder the 5 connection wires between the infra-red themoscanner sensor (point the watch at something and it'll tell you the temperature) and the watch's circuitboard to fix it, each wire the thickness of a human hair:

Previous to that I had a thermometer watch and my current watch is a calculator/remote control.

Not only that, but based on this watch, I'd wager you aren't married, either.

Since we're pointing out errors...
* In the special features box, for disc 1, you have "vocie-over" instead of "voice-over".
* Also in the special features box, the "dvd-rom features" text for disc 2 is missing the space before it.

Ghostbusters
Criterion CAV
- one deleted scene on side 1 was not included on the DVD: the Ghostbusters in the stairway before entering their office on campus
- special effects comparisons unique to LD
- Theatrical teaser unique to LD.

I don't have them but if someone has the LD...

I have the Criterion CAV Ghostbusters and am looking into making a companion disc to the existing DVD.

Another addition to what's *not* on the new DVD release (and assuming this wasn't on the LD):

The trivia subtitle track (aka "fact track" on some dvd's), on the previous DVD of Ghostbusters. Why is this not on the re-release? No new features, and removing the trailers and trivia track-- wtf? Aside from consumers who didn't buy 'em the first time around, who is the new set for? Apparently, not fans.
We don't have enough road to get up to 88.

I don't know why they're bothering with the re-release of the Ghostbusters films. *shakes head* I'm glad I read about all this though, as now I can buy the original discs instead of wasting my money on the new set.

Also, I just found (whilst reading about Rat Race), that the movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)" is 155 minutes on DVD. Whilst I'm unsure of any VHS releases of this film. I've found that there's a LaserDisc of this title that runs 188mins and has the "Little Less Serious" doco on it. Worth preserving I think. Just throwing that out there.

Small update on the Ghostbusters companion disc--

I'm in the process of procuring a processing amplifier and an image detailer/enhancer (for boosting high frequencies) to run between my Pioneer DVL-700 and my Panasonic DMR-ES80 DVD recorder (much easier than capturing with a computer). I don't have access to an almighty X0; therefore, I have to pull out a couple of hardware tricks to put a little oomph into the project's picture quality. The DVL-700 is no slouch, but I want this to be as great as possible.

I haven't been following this thread, so sorry if this has been already mentioned, but does anyone have in any format at all a good quality version of The Devils by Ken Russell ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066993/ ). I love this film and it looks like it is never gonna get an official DVD release. I know of a bootleg version available, but I refuse to pay for bootlegs, so if anyone has that version and would like to upload the full DVD image, I would be eternally greatful
