Is this project ever going to see the light of day?

Will you be releasing a very high bit rate encode mkv of the entire project?

Thanks for sticking with this. Will there be a separate thread announcing the compiled release or will that occur here? Thanks Dwalin.

Has anyone ever taken a look at the version streaming on amazon? I believe it is a different transfer than the Blu-ray release. I don’t see the green tint, it has - unlike the disc version - hardcoded english subs and has an overall more neutral color palette. This is for the version streaming on amazon Germany, but I guess they use the same copy everywhere.

Also, it does not have the same issues as the BD version has in some shots, like the white space around Gandalfs hat at 00:14:18.

Interestingly, the iTunes version has the same issues as the Blu-ray. I have read somewhere else that the version on Netflix looks best and has less DNR than the disc.

Are the Amazon streams theatrical or extended?

Both, and they’re free with Prime at the moment. I was referring the streaming version of the EE.

I have checked all version of Fellowship available to stream an amazon and iTunes, and there are at least two different transfers out there for both the theatrical and the EE, one with hardcoded english subtitles, and a “clean” one. The EE without fixed subtitles is the same transfer as the Blu-ray, with the green tint and other defects.
