Just wanted to see if anyone has a copy of the "Mulholland Drive TV Pilot"?

Just saw the movie for the first time today and got a bit interested.

I read somewhere there was like 300 copies of a VHS out there.

I've got a copy of Muholland Dr on VHS, but it's pretty terrible. I've heard the best copy out there is available on DVD from Super Happy Fun, but I haven't ever gotten around to actually getting it from them.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Here is a 55MB mpg sample of the Godfather DVD transfer. Not all that great. That's the small problem though. The big problem is that my prehistoric LD player wobbles and thus skips terribly toward the end of every disc. Not good.

that stinks elias.

should we rally the troops and try to get a transfer project together along the lines of the Frighteners project? we can take a collection via paypal, "donate" a fee to some brave & kind soul willing to do the transfer on their snazzy LD player, and then get menus and all that crap.

say the word...i'm definitely in for some scratch on this one regardless.

Other possible LD Rips to DVD.

James Bond

Dr. No (Criterion Collection CAV) - Exclusive audio commentary through the film, different from the DVD. Vintage 1960's TV spots advertising Bond bread and other 007-related toys, not on the DVD.

From Russia With Love (Criterion Collection CAV) - Exclusive audio commentary through the film, different from what is on the DVD.

Goldfinger (Criterion Collection CAV) - Exclusive audio commentary through the film, different from what appears on the DVD. Vintage 1960's TV spots advertising Bond bread, not on the DVD.

Thunderball (MGM LD Boxed set) - has vintage 1965 documentary "The Incredible World Of 007" not included on DVD.

Ghostbusters
Criterion CAV
- one deleted scene on side 1 was not included on the DVD: the Ghostbusters in the stairway before entering their office on campus
- special effects comparisons unique to LD
- Theatrical teaser unique to LD.

I have the Criterion CAV Ghostbusters and am looking into making a companion disc to the existing DVD. I just picked up the Criterion CAV Princess Bride that has Rob Reiner reading William Goldman's book and I'm assuming a different audio commentary than the current MGM disc. Also on tap is the first volume of the Golden Age of Looney Tunes and hopefully Francis Ford Coppola's Heart of Darkness.

Please PM me Ash. I've been looking for a replacement of my old VHS copy of Hearts of Darkness for quite some time. My VHS copy is all tracked out, snapped three times (fixed with tape and re-dubbed it), etc.

sorry if this has been mentioned:

From thedigitalbits.com

Universal has just announced for 11/29 The Frighteners: Director's Cut (SRP $26.98 - 123 minutes, unrated, anamorphic widescreen, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio)

We'll post additional details on The Frightners: Director's Cut as soon as we can (all we know now is what we've posted above, and that it's a single-disc release). No doubt it's an attempt on capitalize on Peter Jackson's visibility with his forthcoming King Kong remake, due in theaters on 12/14 (also from Universal).

If its a single disc release, it doesnt seem the 4.5 hour doc could be there.

Frighteners is rumored to be dual layer, dual sided. That's a possible 8 hours of content depending on compression/quality.
Yeah they could do the doc if they wanted.

I KNEW there was at least one deleted scene missing from the Ghostbusters DVD, because I remember seeing it at a friend's house years ago. I'm pretty sure there are some more from I, and definitely some from II, but who knows why those aren't included on the pointless, redundant new green set.

A companion GB disc would be cool. Infuriatingly and inexplicably missing from the new set are the trailers! There was a trailer for II on the orig. I dvd, and trailers for both on the previous II dvd. I mean, you can't tell me there wasn't room for trailers on the new ones. I love the GB I trailer, too (and it doesn't have the "In a world..." guy). And they left off the MST3K-like "video commentary" off the new GB dvd, but that's one omission I didn't mind. I don't remember the teaser trailer.

Hi, I'm new here, too.

There is also the directors version of Wyatt Earp (which to my knowledge has not been released on DVD).

I agree it would be great to have the Criterion CAV Bonds - these are very hard to find and maybe give some insight into the cut scene at the end of FRWL.

Re: The Godfather Epic/Trilogy LD scenes.

So does the bonus DVD disc contain all the deleted scenes that were used in the Epic and the Trilogy? Or just some?

I'm sure this would be a gargantuan task, but since there are content discrepancies between the Epic and the Trilogy (both containing different deleted material inserted, etc.), it would be rather awesome if one all-encompassing "Definitive Trilogy Edition" was made with ALL material included.

Just thinking out loud.

But the deleted scenes on the DVD are fullscreen and the movies are widescreen.

Which brings me to a question - Elias, are the LDs fullscreen or widescreen? I ask because your sample is unfortunately fullscreen ...

I guess I meant if one would use The Godfather Trilogy LD as a starting point, and incorporate the Epic LD material. Especially if there is nothing exclusive to the deleted scenes on the DVD (I'm not sure, as I don't own that set yet). Plus, I thought I read that it was possible to convert fullscreen to widescreen with the technology that the kids today are using (unless I'm wrong and just dreamed that up).

Even if the entire project was fullscreen, I think it would still be a great alternate version to watch.

There are no other deleted scenes (I believe) that are on the epic/trilogy that aren't included in the boxed set. However, the TV version does and the transitions of material on the laserdisc are obviously different.

I try to use the "F" word sparingly, but yes, they are unfortunately Fullscreen.
