On the splizzeen there appears to be a new 3D release. I know nothing about it, but hoping it is superior to the old file from years back.

Let me know how it is if you get it. We can trade file sizes and see if it is the same one. The one I have starts with the text title card about the intro not being in 3D.

I had a chance to skim through it this afternoon. It does have the text title at the beginning. The 3D seems to have a bit more crosstalk than the older file, but it at least stays in full 3D throughout, instead of slowly becoming a 2D movie in a 3D window the way the older version did.

It is in the form of an ISO, sized 25.03, and luckily I still had a few 50GB discs stored away to burn. It’s a nice package. It even opens with the standard Paramount logo when the disc boots up, like a retail disc. It’s classy, I’ll give it that.

Fascinating. Mine was an mkv but I seem to recall a similar experience. I wonder which came first. I don’t know why more people aren’t dying for this or working to make it right. That said I do give this attempt props. It doesn’t look like the version that used the overseas DVD for one eye and Blu-ray for the other. It looked like a new source maybe even a print?

It’s definitely watchable, and I will be keeping the disc in my collection for sure. Hell, I might even print me a cover for it and toss it in a case to place on the shelf.

I highly agree that the demand for a retail release is surprisingly quiet. I’d say Jackass 3D is another one that I’d gladly buy if it were sold, but at the same time no one seems to ask for it.
