In all honesty, I have no clue what par files do. I've never used them so I assumed there was no real use for them. I'll have to research.

EDIT: Wow. I wish I knew what par files were before. It would've saved me a lot of trouble when I downloaded a 7 GBs of a rar archive but deleted them because a handful of them were no longer available.
