As it goes, I neither own a 4k UHD Blu-ray player, nor a 4K HDTV and I really do not feel the need to sell up and upgrade yet again because I’m quite happy with my current setup.

No reason whatsoever. I could see that they were headed for a ban - and I’m certainly not gloating about this outcome. I suspect that other (personal) factors were fuelling their behaviour rather than anger about scanning film prints. If it wasn’t this, it would have been something else…
