In the latest version of the dream sequence I’ve significantly slowed the first handful of shots to achieve a similar effect. I think that plus the different TLJ aesthetic gives an otherworldly feel to the scene. I’ve also done away with Finn being medic-ed and shifted some shots for the finale to cover the weird transition from the Falcon in the clouds to it flying past the rings.

I’ll admit, you may have sold me. The transition from Rey sleeping to her waking up is beautiful and the Jedi Steps makes this “dream” feel very mysterious.
The only nitpick I had was this rendition is that I felt like it would be more powerful — maybe — if Leia saying “Luke” while looking at the map happened BEFORE he turns around and faces Rey. I feel like we need more time on Luke’s face.
EDIT: On another watch, I don’t know if this is necessary. Maybe just to try it.
Other than that, I liked it. Really interesting idea.
