You can't force gay people into "straightness". It's not a "disease", something you can catch or cure. Call it a "quirk", a "defect" - whatever - scientists believe it has more to do with physical changes in the brain (formed as soon as during the child's development in the womb) than with actual psychical impact in adult life. I don't consider them "normal" just as I can't call my eyes "normal", because I have problems reckognizing colors... I rely on numerical values in software like Photoshop, cursing my very own eyes. But that doesn't mean I'm going to pick them out off my head. Similar to the case of people who can't repeat the tune - I can - their hearing isn't "normal", but that doesn't mean they should be shot at sight, right? But I don't expect them to play in the orchestra... All those things are some sort of disability, but we should learn how to co-exist with disabled people, don't we?

There were some "experiments", some backed by certain Bible-bashers, that were to cure gayness... homosexual men were later marrying women to prove they're "OK" now... but actually, this didn't suppress their needs. During their "therapy" some were watching gay porn flicks and repeating a mantra "this is bad, I'm not going to do this anymore" LOL! Sounds like an effecive method of changing your orientation, eh?

Another thing that the research proved is that the percentage of gay people in liberal or conservative societies is pretty much the same (circa 7% ?). The visible difference depends on the fact that in liberal societies they are not afraid to admit to their gay nature, while in conservative ones they hide their needs, pretending to be "normal". I guess it's better for a man to say "I'm gay" and live his gay ways rather than pretend to be hetero and never give his wife the real manly love she deserves.

I'm not going to fight for gay rights or shout out my support on a street demonstration, but I will always oppose homophobia, because it's a form of hatred. Remeber my "horse" joke in other thread?
