i have also sent a set of these to Rikter,i will let him decide what we should do with them,but i noticed it too ROTJ was much better than the other 2 but ESB was better than ANH,they seem to get better with each movie,i was gonna capture these any way just to have them in the private collection but then ocpmovie and Rikter showed some interest so i sped up the project.
i am glad to hear these will help you out ocpmovie i just got your set today, will probably watch tonight,i also just got the Official dvd widescreen release(The Frighteners) today also,i am really curious what the extras are? that some people here would spend almost $200.00 for the laserdisc set to make a dvd release from?

I'd be interested to take a look - I have been looking at tracking scene portions to be able to comp in 'pieces' of video - I'd be surprised if the pan and scan LDs are good enough quality to use for this, but I haven't seen them, so I would like a look.
If they were of a high enough quality , it could work.
If people don't know what I mean, we are talking about how one could use the DVD and fix scenes where there has been something 'added' to the scene for the special editions. A quick and dirty example is below, comping a piece from the Definitive LD into a DVD scene.

I'd be interested in a copy to try to do my own restoration if OCP wasn't planning on releasing one, since I know he could do better.

I'll admit I've got a jones to restore ESB and Jedi, hence this project, but I have no time to do so, so don't let that stop you! I'm working on my own films at the moment. Also, I don't have good copies of the ESB and ROTJ special editions yet ...

Have you checked out this thread.

The GKar release is pretty good as you know but the TB Release is equal to it and it is all in English too......

As usual, a few basic details can be found here.

I am sure that your usual sources would be able to get you these releases.

ocpmovie i also did the se set, you should have told me, i could have sent that to you as well,as soon as i get some more blank dvdr's i will take a few names and i will send some out,but right now i went through 50-60 dvdr's so damn fast i cant believe it,what a hobby we are in LOL,and i cant torrent these because i dont know how,and dont have permission,i here it is hard to get approval @myspleen,so if i can ever figure out how to torrent i could release faster.

oh sorry,it wasnt all the same set, is was se sets, and blade runner, and other stuff as well.

Nobody understands pan scam is crap your paying full price for 1/3 the movie. And that is not true about is being better quality zoomed in on a particular scene. You don't gain in quality by zooming in. Widescreen is the way the film was meant to be seen and the way they shot it and it is the quality one to buy, not foolscreen

Well, for the pieces of scenes that might be required and can be used, you get 480 lines of resolution on the laserdisc vs the 277 lines of the widescreen LD, so you do gain quality by 'zooming in' as you called it.

Oh! Thanks dark_Jedi, but I don't need the laserdisc special editions. I was talking about higher quality digital versions of same like the Gkar.

Sven Brooke sent me some a month ago, apparently, but they never got here. Even though he definitely sent them!


Actually, for all the dozens of people who promise me things, I tend to only get, like, one package from anyone.

As I have said previously, I would like a look at the O-OT Pan and Scan that you have done so far.

The same goes if your SE transfer is also the Pan and Scan version.

As Ocpmovie has already said, the digital video broadcasts of the SE in Widescreen have (so far) been of far better quality than any Laser Disc transfer.

Both sets are in PAL. Neither are perfect but they are better than any of the Asian bootlegs out there.
