I don’t know. I feel like the line about the Oscillator is too much of a throwaway line for the average moviegoer. I do see what you’re saying, and it might not be required. But I do think it would help.

I’m not sure how else it can be communicated without additional dialogue. Or how this is the first time they’ve used the weapon and the instability would be unknown.

Or maybe not.
