As some of the last batch of changes to the films were for the 3D releases, technically we did get them, from a certain point of view. š
Disney has all but abandoned 3D releases in the U.S. Only Marvel seems to be bucking that trend though.
Yes thatās right, they have CG Yoda for consistencyās sake (a change I donāt hate but definitely isnāt necessary), and updated āforce speedā effects if I remember (among other things). But Iām talking more of the 3D itself, which aside from the pod race and space scenes looked more like a shoebox diorama than anything.
Also I read somewhere the 3D versions of Clones and Sith were completed and screened. But unlike Phantom Menace which was advertised and hyped up, the latter 2 prequels were screened like one time each at one theater and then quickly forgotten about.
