Coov- that's a spectacular set of covers. I'm definitely using them for one of my sets.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side

Rikter,

I just caught your edited post with the "MagnoliaFan Edit Collection" and "Cowclops V.2"! Nice! I really liked how those turned out!

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Excellent covers, Rik! I think I may just make my own cover for the OT using your design concept for the MagFan edits. Also, Coov, those are some of the best covers I have ever seen. Wow! Good luck in the future.
Rock. Nirvana. Awsomeness.

@ Coov: Those are great, I really like them man. Fantastic job. Is there any chance of you emailing them out? One question, are those made for single case DVD sets or double case?

I'm sorry for the newbie question, but I've never made covers for myself before. Also, where do you guys prefer to buy cases and inserts?

Thanks for the support guys.

Email? Well, I guess I could, but considering most of the files are over 5 MB, and I am at work using their system.... you may just want to be patient.

... and about the cases, they are replacements for the 2004 and prequel DVD's... I have the DE covers created for the double wide cases as well as the regular sized single ones.

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Yeah scratch the email idea, that wouldn't work at all. The only other thing I can think of is if you have FTP access I can give you access to my website where you can upload them there (and I'll post them there) if you want. Besides that, waiting doesn't hurt as well.

And please provide both double wide cases and single sized cases. That'd be much apprecaited. Thanks.

I have FTP access!

You may be able to hook me and the others up that are really wanting these out. I'll have to give you MY ftp site and you get them from me. That way it would be uploaded in a not so suspicious way. Let me know.

Hello,

I am back from the dead.
I am currently changing my cover site to be more dynamic and user friendly. I switched to a php-based Image gallery and I am now asking for feedback and suggestions from you.
It still is in beta phase and I will change some things in the near future.
The new Version can be tested at:

Cool Grisan! For the upload section, that is much better! You can fly through it so easy now! As far as the rest... I don't think it could be any more user friendly.

Hey Grisan! I like the new format. That's much easier to use. I also like the Upload Parts folder. I look forward to sending in my logos and hi-res pics in soon. Thanks!

Not sure if this is the best place for this question, but...

Has anyone done a cover for the Theatrical Stereo and Mono Mix DVD?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Coov gave me FTP access so I downloaded his entire collection and have uploaded it to my site for you guys to download. I'll leave it up there until Rikter at least puts it in his torrent cover collection, probably longer. It's zipped up, winrar wasn't much better in compression. It's about 111mb in size. Anyway, enjoy guys.

Hey everybody - been enjoying looking at everyone's creativity in this thread for some time now. I've finally finished (I think) my cover art for the Cowclops V.2 dvds - the first Star Wars covers I've made since I got V.1 a couple years ago. Anyway here they are:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/yourfriendkaysar/anh-3D.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/yourfriendkaysar/esb-3D.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/yourfriendkaysar/rotj-3D.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/yourfriendkaysar/bonus-3D.jpg

Let me know what you think. I was trying to go for a very traditional and simple look. I plan on uploading these on Grisan's cover site soon, once I'm positive they need no changes (say if a sharp-eyed forum member spots some faults).

Great job Kaysar. This isn't the Kaysar from Big Brother is it? * that was a j/k *

Does the "The Definitive Collection" slogan apply to a set in particular or Star Wars in general? I always got the impression it was meant for the Dr. Gonzo set but wasn't sure.

Those are pretty nice covers but, Cowclops only made ep4,5,6 the 4 other extra discs are made by rowman. Just to let you know. Could put up hi-res versions?

It specifically refers to 'The Definitive Collection' Laserdisc set, but since many of the restoration projects here used this set as the source it can be applied to them also. The only other Laserdisc set commonly used here is the 'Faces' set.

I wish someone would do one from the 1992 Laserdiscs with the 1985 ANH audio mix... here's a blurb on it from DavisDVD.com

This release is a little-known milestone in the history of Star Wars. When Fox decided to digitally remaster the audio track for this re-release, sound designer Ben Burtt asked to be involved. What Burtt actually ended up doing was that he created an entirely new sound mix for the film. So in reality, the audio for this video release is the fourth official Star Wars audio mix (following the three original theatrical mixes - see the first entry at the top of this page). Among the clean up and digital repairs, some interesting new changes were added. These include sweetened sound effects, new stereo'd effects (Jawa voices after Artoo's capture) and, most noticeably, the addition of C-3PO's line in the Death Star ("The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave"). This new sound mix was used for every subsequent video release until the 1993 THX "Definitive Collection" remastering.

In case future readers missed the thread where svenge got his answer... the Editdroid set did use this audio mix.

First let me say that I love your covers! I don't think you've ever made a set that I didn't think was fantastic.

Secondly, I was wondering if you took suggestions and/or requests. Looking at the Prequel covers above I had an idea for something else you could do with them. You have a pic of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul on the Ep. I cover and you have a pic of Anakin vs. Obi-Wan on the Ep. III cover. What if you put a pic of Anakin and Obi-Wan vs. Count Dooku on the Ep. II cover? They would all tie together that way, and as it is I think the Ep. II is just a little bit more bland then the other covers. You could even carry the lightsaber duels idea into the OT. You could have a pic of Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader for Ep. IV, a pic of Luke vs. Dath Vader for Ep. V, and a pic of Luke vs. Darth Vader in front of the Emperor for Ep. VI. Just an idea.

The other thing that would be cool to see is the gradual fade of the color you did for the OT covers done for the PT covers. I liked your OT covers best, and I think that was part of the reason why. Like I said, I would like to see it if you could make 'em, but I understand if you don't like to do requests or you're just too busy right now.

Finally, just want to encourage you to keep doing what you're doing. Your work is simply terrific!

Thanks!

I am sure there will be more covers to come... but I am pretty covered out at the moment. I wanted to keep all of the covers as simple as possible, and use only the best quality images I could find. I tried to fake a great Obi vs. Vader for ANH corner, but it just didn't work. I love the Luke vs, Vader image used for the Revenge poster and almost used it... but for some reason, that pict is more recognized for ROTJ where I have the Vader in flames.... and then ESB with my favorite SW pict of all time... "the lone Vader on Bespin." There will be more to come, especially as I continue to find better and better images to use. If anyone knows of any fantastic sites where I can get these sorts of images please let me know! It may inspire me! Don't worry, I still have some ideas floating around... Thanks again!

oh, yeah... there is a gradation with the prequels, it is just not as dramatic. I have toyed around with those colors so much. They look a bit different in comparison to the ones on grisans upload section. I have darkened them sense and given different text, as well as those without logos or text at all.
