Hi, I’m new here.

I just decided to start a fan edit of Sidney Lumet’s 1978 film, The Wiz, which is one of my guilty pleasures (I’m well aware the 1975 Broadway musical is better and actually good). I was wondering if there were complete reels of the film that someone could borrow/purchase, scan, and send the scanned versions to me for restoration. If that’s not the case, then I’ll be using the DVD as my source (I own the Blu-ray as well, but the film on it fails to rip). I would also like the reel of the film’s alternate trailer, known as the “History of Oz” trailer, to be borrowed/purchased, scanned, and have the scanned version sent to me for restoration. And yes, help is needed.

Changes to be made:

  • Nipsey Russell’s “What Would I Do If I Could Feel?” dubbed with 1975 cast album version
  • Richard Pryor’s “So… you wanted to meet the Wizard…?!” dubbed with same-worded final lyric of “So You Wanted to See the Wizard” on the 1975 cast album
  • Most Emerald City scenes and all the Wizard’s throne room scenes color-corrected (given an emerald-green tint)

Not sure what else to change… Any ideas?
