I just want that title drop. That’s all I need to feel whole again.

Just about an hour or so away. Several people in the industry have been tweeting that something is gonna drop, but it may or may not be the title. I’m hoping it is but we’ll see.

If it’s the title, I’m gonna guess that it will be Balance of the Force, but I’m excited to find out regardless!

I don’t know what it will be, but I found out from an article that the title could be Balance of the Force.

I doubt a title today, seems like wishful thinking. End of principal photography might be a better bet, that’s when we got TFA.

I think some people are getting too antsy about the title. Must be a slow day on twitter. 😉

This is like the third or fourth time this has happened recently. When it the title drops it’ll just drop. Don’t trust the rumors.

Why is that? I thought The Last Jedi was a great title, and I like the sound of this possible one.

You mean in terms of more than one Star Wars movie having the word “Force” in the title?

It would at least give the ST titles some symmetry, and it would be a fitting title for the final installment of the saga since bringing balance to the force is what they were talking about all the way back (chronologically) in Episode I.

I’d actually be perfectly fine with that title.

Since Episode I and Episode IV both have titles that don’t necessarily have anything to do with the Star Wars universe and the ST didn’t go that route (Jedi and The Force are both very SW-specific), I was kinda hoping they’d invert that pattern and go with something similar for IX.

But like I said, I’d be perfectly fine with Balance of the Force.

Anthony Daniels tweeted this out earlier today,

which means we’re definitely getting some big piece of news this week, even if it’s not the title.

Revenge Of The Droids 😉

I did find it appropriate that they had Tony tweet that out.

Hasn’t it long been assumed that the saga would end with the droids giving their “journal” to the Whills?

George Lucas did say at one point that the only characters that will live throughout the saga would be C-3PO and R2-D2. I really like that, and I believe that Lucasfilm will fulfill that. I believe they will also do the same for the Millennium Falcon by passing it to new generations of characters.

Your average layperson doesn’t know what a Whill is. Nor have they ever been mentioned in the saga thus far, so I doubt they’ll make an appearance in IX.

If Tony can still do it (or at least a voiceover) whenever they get around to an Episode X-XII trilogy, I would hope that it involves R2 and 3PO several decades or perhaps a century following this trilogy. If not, just R2.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I’m not too hyped for a “post sequel” trilogy. But if it has to be made, it should come out at least in the early 2030’s so that there’s some breathing room between trilogies. And yeah, it should take place firmly in whatever the Disney canon’s Legacy era will be.

Lucasfilm are definitely upholding George’s statement/wishes for the two droids to be in every saga film though I feel they are only token appearances in the ST, not much above glorified cameos compared to their involvement in the stories throughout the PT and especially the OT. The focus is clearly on BB8 as the new main droid along with the new cast of characters that Disney obviously want to take forward (meaning either more saga films or offshoot character films, otherwise why introduce and focus so heavily on so many new core characters at this point in the saga?). I also felt C3PO was treated rather disrespectfully in TLJ in the manner and tone that Poe told him to shut up.

So even though Lucasfilm are continuing with keeping the two iconic droids in every saga film, I don’t think they’re doing a good job of it.

C-3PO wasn’t given anything beyond token “cameo” appearances” in the PT (if we ignore him becoming a battle droid, which I think we’d all prefer).

I also felt C3PO was treated rather disrespectfully in TLJ in the manner and tone that Poe told him to shut up.

Wait until you find out how Han Solo treats him.

(The only time 3PO was disrespected was in the aforementioned AOTC sequence).

Does anyone thinks that Episode IX could bring the fan base back together, or will it still just make many mad? It makes me annoyed how critical and harsh people can be.

Maybe it will intentionally divisive so that nobody ever stops talking about it.

Lucasfilm never does anything intentionally to hurt the fan base. They always aim to please them, as do any big film studio making movies for audiences. Anyone who doesn’t like Episode IX will either honestly not like the film, has a bias against the Disney era of Star Wars, or is a troll giving negative reviews to the movie before it has even come out and they have not seen it yet. As someone who loves Star Wars, including the original and sequel trilogies, I cannot wait for Episode IX. All I can say is, if you don’t want to be disappointed, go in with a fresh mind seeing this as the next installment of the Star Wars saga. Leave all your expectations and predictions at the door, and view it as a continuation of the sage you have seen up until now. I went in with the mindset for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and I loved both movies as part of the Star Wars saga.
