With that out of the way, I have to admit that re-inserting this scene actually makes the movie a little bit better. Even the scenes on Tatooine weren't necessary with this scene in place. It tells you enough. You can easily figure out that they are old friends, and that's really all you need to know about Biggs to make his death meaningful.
I have a really old Star Wars storybook that came out when the movie was released. My older cousin gave it to me before I was even into Star Wars. And that storybook contained all the stuff from the Biggs scene on Tatooine with pictures, which is how I knew who Biggs was when I finally got into Star Wars. It almost seems like it was a cut that was made at the last minute, what with it being in a childrens' storybook and John Williams giving Biggs that little horn solo at his death.
But I stand by what I said that it shouldn't have been reinserted, just like any Qui-Gon or Yoda on Dagobah scenes should not be added to Revenge of the Sith's DVD. ^_^
