Ok, now that I have some more free time to work on these and a better capture card, here is what audio tracks I’m planning for all 5 movies (5.1 mixes will be included for reference/whatever), I’m gonna make burnable DVD flies with menus and such. Maybe Blu rays if I can get more MEGA space:

Dirty Harry:
-1983 Laserdisc Mono
-1979 Rental Tape Mono
-1990 Laserdisc Stereo
-1990 Laserdisc Mono Mix Down
-Tv Edit
-2008 5.1 Mix

Magnum Force
-1989 Japanese Laserdisc Mono
-1990 Laserdisc Stereo
-1995 Laserdisc Stereo (deletes a sound cue during first shooting)
-Mono Mix downs of ‘90 and ‘95 Stereo
-1987 Rental Tape mono
-TV edit
-2008 5.1 Mix

The Enforcer
-1989 Japanese Laserdisc Mono
-1995 Laserdisc Stereo
-‘95 Mono Mix down
-1987 Rental Tape Mono
-TV edit dubs
-2008 5.1 Mix

Sudden Impact
-Mono Laserdisc
-1995 Laserdisc Stereo Mix
-‘95 Mono Mix down
-1984 Rental Tape Mono Audio
-TV edit dubs
-2008 5.1 Mix

The Dead Pool
-1989 Japanese VHS
-1995 Laserdisc Stereo
-‘95 Mono mix down for the hell of it
-TV edit dubs
-2008 5.1 Mix

A note on the TV edits, I own all 5 of these movies’ TV edits. I actually have what may be the network premiere of the Dead Pool (recording is from 1993 so it’s damn close if not). I just finished my HD fan restoration of RoboCop so I have much more time to devote to these. Unlike RoboCop I’m not gonna be dealing with alternate footage (yet, maybe in the future), just audio. Dirty Harry and Magnum Force don’t have any funny dubs, but Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and Dead Pool do. These tracks will sync to the Blu Ray as well.

I was also able to fix up the audio from the Magnum Force Rental Tape. At the correct speed and pitch, it syncs up almost perfectly without any touching up, except for one obvious jump cut about an hour in during the Guzman scene as he’s walking back from the balcony. But once that was lined up it was easy. If I can find a better quality tape, it might be the definitive Mono version, since the JP laserdisc while closest to the original version, is missing some frames. There’s actually an old WCI “book” Rental Tape of Magnum Force much like the original 1979 Dirty Harry Tape, but it’s so rare that I don’t know if I’ll ever get my hands on it. I actually own the CED of Magnum Force (which is probably similar to the VHS), but I don’t have a CED player.

And in addition to the DVD folders, I will make all of these audio files available to you guys.
