The only part of the whole movie I like was Obi-Wan yelling "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!!"
"I love you..."

"I know..."

I liked the scene where Anakin is in the Jedi council room and Padme in her apartment, sort of looking at each other across Coruscant. The Music was just fantastic in the scene!

I have to agree with you here, HotRod! That scene practically made me sit up and take notice in the theatre- it shows, either on purpose or by accident, that George Lucas may still have the heart of a filmmaker beating in his chest.

That is what is called 'inner dialogue'- unlike 99.9% of the PT films we the audience are not stupid and don't need every freaking emotion uttered out loud. That one scene did more to communicate the inner turmoil both characters felt and the feelings that they had for each other than, IMHO, ANYTHING else in the trilogy.

Yeah, that moment spoke volumes without a word being uttered. Just like when the mask lowered onto Vadar's face, the music stops, and he takes his first breath.

That's the scene I was talking about when I said "the scene before they go to arrest Palpatine." That was a really great scene, with really great music.

I liked:

- The opening crawl.
- The first shot of the film, dropping onto the space battle.
- How technology with ships starting looking more like the original trilogy.
- The addition of Tarkin. Extra points for it not being completely IN YOUR FACE.
- How Anakin shut the door before busting up Gunray.
- The slaughtering of the younglings.
- The way that order 66 was shot and scored.
- Yoda busting up the two Emperor's guards upon arrival.
- The first half of Anakin's fight w/ Obi-Wan, before they got on the floating chunks in the lava.
- Vader choking Padme.
- The first time the Emperor put on his cloak, after getting deformed. (gave me chills)
- The closing scene. I disagree that it should be switched with the Tarkin scene. I think the story continues around Luke, so it was important to end on him, as a pointer to the future.

Palpatine transformation.

Mon Calamari.

Zett Jukaska or whatever the last name.

Falcon's Cameo.

Clonetroopers (they are just awesome in the movie)

Scout Commandos (i loved those Scout troopers in ROTJ and it was great that Lucas give us these similar guys)

Opera scene.

Hooded Vader or Darkside Anakin.

Hologram of Sidious.

Only 6 mins of Dooku. (that gives me a funny feeling de ja fu, when the main character of a film series is killed off at the very start and has a minor role, did anyone else get that feeling too?

General Grievous.

Yoda vs the Emperor. (ultimatley exciting)

I actually really like the opening scene with Kenobi & Anakin rescuing Palpatine. I still don't think that space battle is as good as Jedi's was.

I love the opera scene where Palpatine is talking to Anakin. One of the true non-action scenes in the prequels that really works.

Of course, Order 66.

The Jedi-Temple Massacre.

The music playing when Anakin & Padme are just staring out their respective windows on Coruscant while Mace & Co. go to arrest Palpatine. A perfect instance where actions speak louder than words, in that scene nothing is spelled out for you, the errie music in the backround says it all.

Yoda vs. Sidious, way better than I expected. I didn't think Lucas could pull it off.

Where Kenobi asks Padme if Anakin is the father, and he replies (I think), "I am truly sorry." Star Wars at its best

The Duel was great, but went in with too high expectations. Through the years after everyone has seen it on DVD a million times, it will pass the test of time, and be the most beloved duel next to ESB with Vader vs. Luke I.

Kenobi yelling at a charred Anakin with no legs and one arm, "You were the chosen one!" The best drama in the prequels

The ending was great, even for prequel bashers:

Luke & Leia being born

Padme dying (more emotional than I thought) The funeral was very eerie

The creation of Vader, with the mask being put on his face, and then you hear the first Vader breath, very well done by Lucas.

Finally, Owen & Beru holding Luke up to the sunset, a fitting end to a 28 year wait!

I liked those comments. I still hope for the dvd release George manages to release the good deleted scenes that we were dying to see.

I didn't like the movie as a whole, but Ian McDiarmid was good and I think Ewan McGregor was brilliant. He was no longer just trying to be Guiness, but created his own character that worked with Guiness' portrayal. His Chosen One speech to Anakin was, for me, the only time in the last two movieswhere the emotion that seemed genuine. Also, I've never seen anyone get their legs chopped off and catch on fire. That was at least interesting to watch.

As long as they are in a deleted scenes section and not reinserted into the movie.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Great film, best prequel by a mile, if only the other two were as good, we might have had a trilogy as great as the O.T.

I liked the parts that weren't made to sell action figures or filled with carelessly written dialogue. I liked those more intimate moments between Anakin and Obi-wan, the part near the starship port where they said their goodbyes, the talk anakin had with Yoda in the meditation room... Palpatine revealing himself to Anakin, Padme realizing Obi-wan is going to kill him... brilliant. If there's ever a reason to buy one of these prequel movies beyond the wizzy sparkly sfx, it's all in this one. I can't wait to see the edited versions with all the cringe worthy moments chopped out...
