I think part of my lesser love for the 1977 film - and to be clear, I still LOVE it - is that for me the entire Saga has become contaminated by all the damage Lucas inflicted upon it through the years. The suppression, the prequels, the SEs, the constant lying, etc, etc.

I haven’t watched it since the Bonus Disc GOUT was released. Part of that is so that it stays a separate entity from all the mess that came after. The NPR version is still my go-to for that story. It’s also free of all that came after.

If the early descriptions are correct, these two new TV shows are a return to the days where the GFFA was vast and mysterious. Man, that is exactly what I’ve wanted for decades. Story and characters first, spinning colors and visuals second.

I hope they don’t tread any more deeply into Jedi/Force stuff on the show than Rogue One did.

I agree. At least when Rogue One did address them, it was to put them right again; The Force Of Others and Kyber crystals. No more of that idiotic midichlorian BS, and the chosen one… * eye roll *

This new stuff - a deep space detective and a deep space gunslinger - bring it!
