I told them that we need FCP to put the clips in order, make a quicktime movie of them, and compress them to Mpeg2 from there. Then I told them we need DVD studio Pro to handle the encoding to DVD because iDVD cant handle Mpeg2 encoding. They kept saying things like "I don't understand.." This is what I have to look forward to, 4 or 5 days of nothing but encoding 60 hours worth of material to DVD. And that's just the NTSC DVD masters. Then I gotta convert the timeline to PAL and encode that to DVD.
wait, why cant i just put these quicktime clips on a DVD straight from the hard drive?
