SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE first aired on the ABC Network in February of 1982.

The broadcast would later become known as the Extended Television Cut.

Captured by fans on Beta and VHS tape, until home video, Laserdisc and DVD release this is how SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE, for years, would be known to viewers around the world.

The Extended Television Cut and later the 2001 Special Edition, otherwise known as the Directors Cut, are all that have been available to fans apart from the digitally restored editions on Bluray released in 2006 and 2011.

With the upcoming 4K Ultra HD release, there still remains a void in delivering to fans a version of SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE in its original theatrical form.

While alternate cuts are nothing new in the industry, these alternate versions are nothing more than curiousity that never truly capture the original theatrical experience.

SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE The 35mm SILVER SCREEN EDITION is an attempt to re-capture that experience. A restored 35mm transfer that looks and sounds like a film.
