For a Samsung 4K TV, the image will be reasonably calibrated out of the box for HD sources by selecting “movie” mode, with colorspace set to “auto”.
Of course, the source settings needs to be untouched (so no playing with the NVidia settings).

Never force any HDR settings, leave that for native HDR content.
Do update the firmware, colorspace and black levels are some of the things they tend to fix.

If you don’t like messing with calibration, just use it like this (movie mode out of the box) and it will be at least a reasonable approach.
