You make a good point, though there is one interesting fact I read somewhere, I wish I remembered. And this is not an excuse for GL, but I just found it funny. The guy who put the Wolfman(men) in the cantina grabbed those masks pretty much off the shelf of somewhere. He hates the mask, just like GL. Leading one to believe the only shot left of the Wolfman in ANH may be erased. Poor wolfy, can't have anyone to save you. Except your rereleased action figure.

That is kinda funny.

And on the subject of Wolfpeople, interesting how GL still then allowed Clone Wars to have a Wolf Jedi in Chapter 20.

Should've gotten Rick Baker to tackle the Wolfman costume. Look at the wonders he did with An American Werewolf in London and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. Classics.

Yes, but the thing is, the Wolfman only got in ANH because they completely ran out of money for the most part and had to grap a left over mask. I am sure from what I understand they would have put anything else in the Cantina instead of a Wolf if they had the money. So while I want the OT to be preserved, I think that change in the SE is legitmate because GL's original vision was that thing would not be in there.

If that was a leftover mask, I wonder what it was "leftover" from? Just from the SW prop department or was it used in some other movie?

one of the things i find really charming in the original trilogy is that they had to be creative because their budget was limited. and this is a good example for that. and also that they didn't have CGI so they made real efforts to make the creatures look realistic. it's more like an art, i see the puppet makers as bein like craftsmen.
that's also something i don't like about the prequels: Lucas has an almost unlimited budget and he uses tons of CGI, which makes it look fake and artificial.

maybe they got the mask from a snow white movie?

yeah in a way a fanfilm can look more like an OT film because it has to do a lot more creative stretching of the budget and technical limitations

Go watch the 10 minute film school segment on Spy Kids 3-D. That says it all.

Um that Wolfman mask ACTUALLY BELONGED TO RICK BAKER!

Yup THAT RICK BAKER! He was working in the F/X department & when a mask was provided used one of his own creations! The same mask can again be seen in John Landis's "American Werewolf in London" during one of David Kessler's dreams!

And that alone makes it scary and worth deleting in his Definitive Special Edition I Will Rule The World versions. I of course though want it preserved since it is part of the original theatrical editions.

And still... won't be the end of it. Even after GL's death, they will keep adding scenes, removing scenes, adding more CGI, adding new characters to some scenes (Luke, Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, C3PO, R2D2 and Sylvester go into the death star), changing the plot some more, changing everything, and... in 100 years, Star Wars will be a b&w romantic comedy set in the 17th century, staring Woody Allen and a CGI Shirley Temple.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

That still sounds better than the current version...

Well GL seems to feel that way after all, since the OT couldn't have disappeared. I can see now.

You hear the Vader breathing.

Rick: "Lord Lucas, the new Rogue Squadron game has the Ewok song from Return of the Jedi, Yub, Yub."
George: "What? That song does not exist in my parallel dimension!"
Rick: "But Lord, it was......"
George: "Who dared to release this vision of George's?"
Rick: "Your company, LucasArts, George my lord."
George: "That first name no longer has any meaning to me. You will recover the stolen information and bring me all the games, I want them BURNED!...... And Little Lucas, don't fail me again."
Rick: "Yes, my lord."

Now remember, I do like the SE, but with these 2 I can't resist sometimes.

Oh God. It was? Now I'm sad. Sorry if I offended anyone with my staunch defense of Rick Baker. I will crawl in a hole now.

I doubt it will be that, just more scenes and CGI in them and other shots in all seriousness. What I am actually wondering is with modifications on their way, especially if there are ultimate editions, what are we going to start calling the damn things? We're going to need a code key to understand each other. No, I'm talking about the SE, not UE, but wait where is my OT. Haha, you only have the SSE, not UE. But what about the DC? Nothing compared to LFV.

Code Key

OT- Original Theatrical
SE- Special Editions
SSE - Special Special Editions '04
UE- Ultimate Edition
DC- Director's Cut
LFV - Lucas's Film Visions

Wouldn't LFV be the same as the UE?

No because the UE was before the LFV and the UE didn't have the holographic projection technology for your video screen, so GL had all new creatures and backgrounds added for the movies.

hint, hint, my bad attempt at humor.
