i think that the only solution for directors stopping meddling with their movies and including stupid characters is to make them sterile when they are still young and promising...

It's not the only solution. I would love to make movies, but I understand that some of the movie ideas I have are not geared to children, so I would not alter them to make them more appealing to children. It's all about remembering what your job is.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I don't think any of the alterations make them more appealing to children. He cut out a childrens musical number

If that's what you want to call the Ewok Celebration, fine, but look @ the concessions made to children in the prequels; how else do you explain Jar Jar Binks, or the lack of blood in either film?

I wonder who decided to do it, GL or the studio. I say "both", but, as much as GL wants to do a good film, he has to make it like a 2-hour toys commercial. Money talks.

George Lucas has stated that he made The Phantom Menace as kid friendly as possible. Since Attack of the Clones would be much darker and Episode 3 will not be happy on any stretch of the imagination. Episode 3 will be the must adult Star Wars movie ever. Also how much blood is there in any Star Wars movie.

I would agree on Jar Jar, but the only time we see blood in any SW film is the cut off arm in the cantina and that was a mistake anyway, lightsabers cauterize wounds. So where do you get this beef for wanting blood in the prequals that is not found in the PG Star Wars saga except for a mess-up?

So the R rating rumor returns? (wow, RRRR, R rating rumor returns)

I would love to see a NC-17 rated Star Wars movie (due to gory realistic violence), wouldn't you?

An R rated Star Wars ain't happening. But since Episode 3 is suppose to be the most vilolete Star Wars movie I do think it should be PG-13.

it should recieve an R rating...

R for Ripoff

Finally I agree I hate the rise in ticket prices. I mostly wait till they come to the cheap theater except for movies I really really want to see.

$14 US?? Man that is like $24 Australian... you guys really are getting ripped off! I get upset if I have to pay $11 AU for a movie ticket...

Never been charged $14. They usually charge $5.50 at my theater if you go at the correct time. Its still overpriced. I prefer the cheap theater for only $1.75. Sure you have to wait but it has cheaper price and no commercials. Thats right not only are they raising the price but are adding commercials not movie previews commercials.

Never said I wanted blood; I only said that it was one of the concessions made, as there are scenes in AOTC where the judicious use of blood would have been appropriate (the battle arena, pre-Jedi entry).

Luke is Canadian. The $14 he is talking about is Canadian money which translates to US$10.39 (give or take). Still expensive, but getting closer and closer to being in line with ticket prices in major US metro areas for first run films at prime showing times. Scary, isn't it?

In Luxembourg, if anyone cares to know, the normal price is 7.5 € (9 $) and the reduced one (for kids, students and over-65s) is 6€ (7.2 $).
In England, in the cinema I use to go, normal 6.50£ (12$), kids 4£ (7.2 $), students and seniors 5£ (9$)

What does this tell us? Eeeerrmmm not much actually, just that I am too much obsessed with details...

Brazil: weekends it's about R$15.00 (about US$5.50), students pay R$7.50 - during weekdays it's about R$5 to R$10, depends on the location, and the time.
