The Burbs – I highly enjoyed this, even if I was somewhat let down by the ending.

In addition to Audrey Hepburn, I’ve kind of been on a Tom Hanks binge all throughout the year. Started it with The Money Pit, then Turner and Hooch, and yesterday, Sleepless in Seattle. I hope to complete the Hanks/Ryan trilogy this year.

I’m going to have a George Lucas marathon soon where I watch THX, American Graffiti, and Star Wars. I’ve not seen the first two. Should be fun.

I believe you’re looking for the next movie seen thread. I’m pretty sure it exists, might as well bump it so we have more active threads.

Don’t let it happen again or its coming out of your check.

THX’s special edition is as bad or even worse than Star Wars’, so try watching the original version if you can.

anyway, THX and Graffiti are some of my all-time favorites, so i think you’re going to have fun. THX in particular is quite good.

Would probably be 9/10, terrible viewing experience detracted though.

Good. The DC is a snooze fest.

I liked the deeper exploration of Ridley’s struggle with the loss of her daughter.

I have to admit I’m not steeped deeply in the differences. I just remember the initial planet sequence taking forever without much happening. And the automatic sentry machine gunning aliens in the hallway sequence just goes on and on.

I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

TV cut is the best cut of Aliens. Most of the added DC scenes are included, but the opening planet sequence with the colonists isn’t, and I think the sentry gun bit is shorter (or not included).

Is that available?

I know there’s a project (or two?) looking to conform the BR to the TV cut over at Fanres, and I think there’s a cap of the TV cut (censored obviously) on MySpleen.
