Film scenes that make you go "Hmmmmm..."

Author
Time

This thread is for discussing film scenes that seem quite awkward in the film, seem quite pointless, have uncomfortable innuendos, or just shouldn’t be there.
Have fun! 😃

When’s something gonna happen?

Oe ‘hmmmm’ scene I saw was in Jekyll in Hyde where a girl takes off all her clothes (but no nudity) in front of Jekyll.

When’s something gonna happen?

-“You’re so beautiful / It’s only because I’m so in love / No it’s because I’m SO in love with you.”
-Dr. Akom stripping his daughter in Crocodile.
-The skinny dipping scene from Tah Tien.
-Jessica Lange asking Jeff Bridges for a drink in King Kong.
-Charo’s cameo in The Concorde: Airport '79.

The scene in Blade Runner where Deckard forces Rachael to make out with him. It’s problematic and deeply uncomfortable to sit through.

I think that Revenge of the Nerds scene is far worse. At least there’s something complex going on with Rhett and O’Hara.

Oh, no doubt about it.

I’ve never seen any of the films discussed in this thread, but I can confidently say you’re all wrong.

You’ve never seen TLJ?

Of course, why would you have. We all knew from the beginning that Kathy and Rian were scheming to ruin Star Wars.

Looks like Possessed is planting himself a garden of whoopsie-daisies. Come smell it.

this scene from Conan The Destroyer …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LQTS73rOP8 and pretty much any scene in that film with the character of Malak the thief , especially the Camel scene where he asks Conan if he remembers the camel . WTF , he wasn’t even there , that was Subotai the archer that was with him .

If I remember my old Starlog articles correctly, Subotai was in early script drafts. It’s possible they simply never rewrote that dialog?

^ yes , Subotai was in those drafts , I have had the pleasure of reading one of them , he gets hung for thievery in the public square on orders of the town magistrate early in the story and Conan sneaks into the magistrates chambers and kills him , also throws a prostitute who tried to sell him out into a pig pen . Roy Thomas used a lot of elements and scenarios from his early Conan comics and later wrote the Graphic Novel Horn Of Azoth which was a much more serious version based on his early scripts for the film before they butchered the scripts . I am almost as big a Conan fan as I am Star Wars. And yeah , it’s possible.

I guess that all went out the window when they aimed for a PG rating? Thanks for confirming my memories!

On a side note, I loved the live Conan show they used to have a Universal Studios. Seeing those guys sword fighting on stage was amazing.

There was a souvenir VHS of the tour sold in the park, but I don’t know how much of the Conan show is actually in it.
