As most of you may know, ever since clips of this documentary surfaced online a few years ago, this became one of the “Holy Grails” of Star Wars. While the quality isn’t great, at long last we get to see the full 1 hour documentary. This is a direct rip from the DVD that i was given. The original ISO file will be found soon on the spleen and on the usual SW usenet group.

This seems to be from a different source than the one that StarWarsArchives originally posted clips from, so i decided to make this a new topic.

Enjoy

Anyone tried to reach out to the other Camera/production people for their thoughts? Only one left possibly.
Gilbert Loreaux: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1141961/ & https://www.facebook.com/gilbert.loreaux
Eric Pittard: (Died 2013) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0685889/
Joan Weideman: (Died 2005) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0917785/

They seemed to have been given free reign over all aspects of production, quite remarkable.
The soundmix at 29:00 seems to have more synthesizer then I recall from the final movie version. Any other sound bits seem like a different take to anyone?

Interesting documentary, thanks for sharing. It’s funny to see the principals talking about the love triangle before they knew about Luke & Leia.

Does anyone know who is this guy who looks and sounds weirdly like Adam Driver? He’s at 14:47.
Adam Driver?

Ha, I thought the same thing when I saw this documentary.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

Maybe Adam’s immortal just like Rasputin and Keith RIchards.

Thank you for sharing this documentary, Adywan. Just watched it today and thoroughly enjoyed it - fascinating to see what they achieved back in 1980 with the technology available. The Hoth Wampa shoot was a real highlight.

How does one join/use Usenet and which one is the usual Star Wars group. I’m new to Star Wars and would love to watch this doc before moving on to Return of the Jedi

MySpleen doesn’t seem to be allowing new users so if it’s at all possible to share the original iso or an even mkv file that would be much appreciated!

Well, I feel like a noob for posting an empty reply.

I always had good luck with Newsbin (software) and GigaNews (Usenet provider).
