In all of the BTS I’ve seen of Gary Kurtz, he seems to have been a very positive influence on set, which is something greatly treasured to those who work on them. Not only did he have a big impact on filmmaking, but he was a decent person. I know his family must be devastated, but I hope they can celebrate the time they had with him and the great impact he’s had on millions of people around the world.
I’m sure many of you have seen this but I wanted to share a video of what was probably one of Star Wars’ first appearances at a fan convention in 1976, with Mark Hamill and Gary Kurtz representing the film. A really great look at a moment in time before people even knew what Star Wars was.
