He doesn’t even mind change, just so long as it doesn’t involve a woman.

This is an ignorant statement that ignores Warbler’s (poorly stated) point in favor of painting him as a sexist.

I agree with Warbler that making the Doctor a woman is stupid and the concept was most definitely used because it’s ‘fashionable’ right now. As far as I’m aware, there were never any references to this being possible in the whole of classic Who. The idea that regeneration can gender-swap is incredibly stupid. It doesn’t make any sense, even considering how little sense regeneration makes already.

That said, I don’t really care. I’m not going to sit here and complain about it endlessly because I don’t like watching current Doctor Who anyway. I lost interest during Capaldi’s first season when I just got tired of being constantly disappointed by terrible stories that make no sense. I actually stopped liking the show for the most part when Matt Smith came, but I kept watching because I still cared, and he grew on me a bit after a while. I’ll stick with Tom Baker and Peter Davison mucking about and acting like they’re in charge in a matter of fact way, rather than watch some guy proclaim that he can save the entire universe from destruction simply because he’s “The Doctor,” as if that makes him important somehow.
