Well, first, he saw a print that would’ve been made back on 2008, not a digital copy. Second, Christopher Nolan doesn’t like digital, so he tries to keep his stuff film-based as much as possible. Third, the original BR release of TDK had a lot of problems, and color was one of them; the recent 4K UHD restoration (which went back to the negatives, meaning the color would have to be retimed) didn’t come with a 1080p copy of the new restoration, and there is, of course, controversy in the film community about the color timing choices of the UHD restoration anyway.
I have the original BR release, I never noticed the issues with color timing. What other issues does it have?
