Never understood drinking. Had one drink on my 21st birthday, terrible. Never considered it before or since, it seemed obligatory.

Its an acquired … shall we say … taste?

Haha, yeah, but it’s not the taste that bothers me. I’m a bit of a control freak, so giving some of that up to a foreign substance freaks me out.

I don’t understand people who get drunk on cheap beer. I don’t drink to get drunk, nor do I drink very often at all. But when I do, I drink something that tastes good. I much prefer Shiner Bock over Keystone as beers go; and if I were to drink with the intent to get lit, you can bet I’d drink screwdrivers or margaritas or fireball cinnamon whisky instead of downing a case of Natural Light. Yuck.

Keystone and natural light are definitely trash. But so is fireball. If you like the concept of fireball, try Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire. It’s basically a real version of what fireball claims to be : cinnamon whiskey. But not syrupy bullshit.

On Friday night, I spilled soup on my laptop. It wasn’t much soup, and I thought I’d cleaned it up fast enough to prevent seepage into the innards, but apparently I didn’t; a couple minutes later, the screen went dark and I couldn’t use the power button to shut the laptop off, forcing me to unplug it and disconnect the battery. After opening it up to sponge up whatever moisture I could find, I reconnected the battery and turned it back on. It started booting up as normal, but then I got a blue screen informing me something had gone wrong and the computer needed to restart. Instead of restarting, the screen went dead again. For the rest of that night, ever hour or so I’d turn the computer back on, seeing if it would boot up as normal, but the screen stayed black.

The next morning, I tried turning the laptop on again. This time it started an automatic repair. The first auto-repair failed, and the screen went black, but the second attempt was successful. I then was able to use the laptop without any hiccups all yesterday.

Today, when I started the computer back up, the login screen went fuzzy — like a TV with bad reception — and froze. I turned it off then on again. The second time, I just got some red staticky bars, then the computer screen went black. Third time, every thing seemed to run smoothly. Minutes after getting online, though, that blue screen returned and the computer restarted. After it restarted, I was able to login, but there were no Internet connections available. I restarted the computer again; everything seems to be okay now.

If this wonkiness continues, I may have to take the laptop in for maintenance.

Earlier I was looking at my hands and I thought ‘man does my fucking hand hair look nasty’ so I decided to shave it and now my knuckles are bleeding. Worst part is I couldn’t even shave all of it off!

are you drunk?

Yes!

Also what kind of razor did you use? I use a regular razor for my face, but I keep a cheap electric razor around for body shaving. (Well trimming). Harder to cut yourself.

I’m sleepy drunk.

Uhh just a regular, good ol’ razor.

My laptop just decided to die and corrupt the hard drive with it. It was relatively cheap, so I’m not too upset, but I’m never getting back those files.

I just got vodka in my eye. And you know, honestly? I don’t think I recommend it for you and your loved ones/neglify.

Always a good idea to back up the important files at least once a week or save them to an SD card or USB stick.

Or just memorize them. They say the brain has the equivalent of between 1 terrabyte and 2.5 petabytes of storage.

I feel strange, like I’m starting to come down with something. Wonder if I picked up a bug from the library today, if it’s something I ate, or if it’s just my usual post-summer jitters coming on a bit strong.

I’m miffed the Doctor Who thread was locked. I suppose, to put it more clearly, I’m miffed that the thread was derailed to the point it was felt necessary to lock.

Yeah, shit’s gonna suck until the novelty of a female Doctor blows over. Just like the Star Wars fandom sucked until people got used to a female lead in the sequel trilogy.

Wait … shit.

What we were talking about had to do with Doctor Who, so I don’t know why it was off topic for the thread. But I am probably done posting there. I am sure that will make multiple people happy.

And yet people still whine about the ST being “SJW” this and “Feminazi” that. Just like people are bitching about DW having an “agenda” now.

Also, neither Leia nor Padme were the leads in their trilogies. Luke and Anakin were (at least I think Anakin was the lead in the PT). Similarly to how DW has had strong female characters for decades in companions like Barbara, Liz Shaw, Sarah Jane, Ace, Amy Pond, and so on and so forth, but God forbid you cast a woman in the lead role…

and I am sure that every single person that is upset with the ST is upset for only one reason: a female lead. Yeah, right.

Also, neither Leia nor Padme were the leads in their trilogies.

come on, both were major stars in their trilogies. One can argue that Leia outranked both Luke and Han in the Rebellion. Padme was the leader of a whole planet and a Senator.

Similarly to how DW has had strong female characters for decades in companions like Barbara, Liz Shaw, Sarah Jane, Ace, Amy Pond, and so on and so forth, but God forbid you cast a woman in the lead role…

They didn’t just cast a women, they turned a character that had been make for over 50 years into a female. They didn’t do it for the sake of the show, they did it for PC reasons, and they are clearly now marketing the show to the more feminist minded people and old time fans like me are probably no longer wanted. And before you go whine to the mods like they’re your mommy and daddy once again, I’m done and will not be engaging on this (or probably any other) topic with you from now on.
