I actually did not realize it until a few months ago when a patron here at the library asked about it. He couldn't think of the name Barbwire, just that it was Casablanca, in the future, with a blonde.
The more I think about it, the more I see the connections.
I think I failed to catch the resemblance because Bogart's Rick was much more subtle about the help he tried to provide.
Plus, Barbwire isn't a movie you really think much about as you watch it...if you get my meaning.

yeah, im sure the patron came in and was like someone told me about this Casablanca remake, I dont know the name, but its in the future with a blond. because he didnt want to come in and say, do you have Barbwire, that movie with Pamela Anderson.
