Police brutality is a partisan issue in this country. The people opposing Kaepernick and the other NFL players that have been doing this are also on the side of the abusing police most of the time.
Aye, attacking those that protest can be quite an effective diversionary tactic by those in power / wish to keep the status quo - especially in the modern era of limited investigative journalism, repeated news cycles, ‘be first / facts later’ coverage, limited column inches, editors opting (or under pressure) for clicks / sensationalism over quality / wider range of stories.
Maybe our shortening attention spans too 😉
Hopefully the focus will return to the core issues of what is behind the players’ protests - and soon.
