I also think a better Jedi philosophy to follow is that of Yoda " A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense , never for attack ." If it were my kid , I would make him aware of the real world martial arts influences on The Jedi , let him know that to defend yourself is perfectly ok , and enroll him in a martial art school to learn self defense .I’ts not the Jedi way to kill and maim , it is to defend oneself and others.
I hope the kid’ll learn that too mate - he’s off to a good start with some impressive strength of mind and self-control.
