Honeymooners, Bewitched...

We're loooking at you.

LOL that's great. I wonder if it's just that hard to be creative or if the execs are just too friggin' lazy to come up with something fresh.

Haha! That's awesome! And it's so true. I rarely see movies in theatres anymore because most of them really suck.

However, the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory looks somewhat decent...

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Yeah. Weird to be sure.

Unfortunately, there aren't any major movies I have left to look for.

Island, Fantastic Four, and possibly Charlie are the only ones left this year. Well... Mr. and Mrs. Smith might still be playing. Funny, how this time last year, Star Wars Episode III seemed so far away, and now it's come and gone and I wish there was another installment to look forward to...

But there's not.

The more I see of that movie, the more I think it'll be another Peter Jackson classic up there with LOTR and The Frighteners.

At least with Bewitched they have gone quite creative, the movie isn't a direct movie version of the old series, but a movie about making a movie version of the old series!

I actually don't mind the rehashes myself, and it isn't entirely about a lack of creativity. It is becoming quite hard to come up with original stories as so much as been written throughout the centuries. I have got into that trouble before, written something that I thought was really original and then that week finding an almost exact copy of my story already out there! Since there is that trouble, then when they do come up with scripts that are quite close to old concepts, then it is usually wise in a marketing-sense to just buy the rights of the old story as then you will already have an existing market and less needs to be spent on getting your story into the public's faces. If it wasn't an old series, then it will be an old book adaption or simply a sequel.

Had Hidden Fortress been more popular in America then I'm sure that Star Wars would have ended up being marketed as 'Hidden Fortress in Space!'.

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

Has anybody here seen "Dead Alive", directed by a pre-"The Frighteners" Peter Jackson? I laughed my ass off at just the copious amounts of needless zombie gore. By watching that film, it's surprising that anyone let the man responsible for it anywhere near to something like "Lord of the Rings".

Best line from the movie:

man! there really aren't a whole lot of movies to see this year and if you think about it, most of the ones that are planned for the up coming two years are rehashed from something: be it tv, movies, books, video games... they just don't want to put the time or money into coming up with something new.

Either that, or there aren't any more people to find in Hollywood that are creative.
