A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

I set out to document the lack of the original trilogy on DVD as well as the release of the prequel films (like I said a LONG time ago!). At that time I had over 250 hours of footage from I & II’s opening nights where I had interviewed fans both old and new on their take of the new films as well as the OT, but sadly I was robbed and they got all of my video equipment, my laserdisc players, and they also stole all of my films footage, my computer with software (legit even!), the movie files, and took the release forms. They also got my DVDs including fan films, originals, soundtracks and even the VHS tapes (Reason #1 I’ve not been able to seed old torrents). Most of you know I lost interest in Star Wars after this happened and . . . the prequels . . . well, that’s another discussion entirely. EITHER way, my point is, after The Force Awakens my love for the movies was also rekindled.

Now, I would really like to finish what I started (proud, Yoda would be) and this is going to be a challenge for me as I have no idea what I’m doing, but I know I have an workable idea. Jay and the older members of this forum have always been an inspiration and faithful allies to me in all my Star Wars endeavors and I’m here to ask for your help.

I still want to save the OT and I found a way for me to make an attempt at it. I’ve started a project with a few dear friends here in Albuquerque and have approached a few of you via private messages and it seems like it’s rolling forward.

So the basic premise is that the OT much like Alderaan… may be gone forever!

I’d like to document our collective history and efforts in saving it on our own, and more importantly the fact that Lucas has and is actively presenting his own revisionist version of OUR history.

I have a bit of an idea on how to approach this documentary but the point of this post was to official announce this project and also ask for any assistance/guidance the community may have so if you’re interested in offering anything from suggestions, effects, editing, social media or other skills to this project please contact me via PM’s and please feel free to post here also. As always this is a not for profit project - full disclosure we will start a fund raiser to help finance this.

I will continue to update this thread as this project moves forward as of now I’m near completing a proposal of the documentary (also my outline) and have started on storyboards V.1.

Thanks for reading my slightly incoherent, longwinded ramblings, and look forward to somehow seeing this project through.

Word to the Spookies!
