Here’s the final version:

This is the first time I’ve seen this scene where the colors and skin tones look natural. Kudos DrDre.

THANK YOU for not making this scene overly blue. I feel like I’ve been saying for years a naturalistic approach is the best way to go.

Yeah, it’s still plenty blue compared to the boring grey of many home releases. Doesn’t need to be o era the top to look great.

The funny thing is, that if you look carefully at the technicolor frames for this scene the walls blue color seem to stem mostly from the blue lighting, not that the walls themselves are a deep blue.

Fantastic again DrDre. It really is making me oddly emotional seeing these frames the way I always knew they could look, but couldn’t quite get there on my own with the Blu-ray.

Wonderful, Dre. So, is this the balanced version, or…?

The above frames approach what I would consider the look of the perfect print.

my lord. i agree, that’s probably the look of the perfect print. i’m really glad we have that now for most people who went to the theaters in 1977 and for those of us that want to watch it as if we were in a 1977 theater. i, however, will be sticking to your balanced color grade. man, that thing looks amazing, and is so far exactly what i’ve always been looking for in a color grade of star wars.

Is this Xmas? It feels like Xmas. The natural colors breathe so much life into the film. It’s finally becoming a reality! Your work is amazing.

These look great Dre. I gotta wonder though, why start with the beginning of the film? Why no do a Han shot first?

Because Julie Andrews taught us the beginning is a very good place to start.

^ Looking good, Dre. I’m especially liking Ben’s darker looking cloak!
