Because there was internet tantrums thrown after the last film, Disney got scared after Solo did poorly and they are going back to all new, all familiar.

He’s a successful gambler, and the Rebels could probably use some money to buy new ships. Lando could probably break the bank at a place like Canto Bight.

Also, there are a lot of things Lando can do in this film that are of importance and if this is truly the last film we are getting on this timeline, I am excited to see him back!

I liked it. Unlike at the beginning of TFA, at the end of TLJ (one could even argue after the destruction of the Republic system in TFA), that the First Order was now the de facto supreme authority in the galaxy. Calling themselves the Rebellion at the end of TLJ was them taking on a new urgency to their fight against the FO.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

Having Hayden Christensen appear in IX is my single biggest fear for the film.
If that were to happen I’d have to write off the entire ST and I’d rather not do that. =/
If JJ legitimizes the Special Editions, I don’t know what I will do. I’m sick of the idiot PT and Clone Wars fans.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

I keep hearing JJ is going to tie the three trilogies together. That scares me. Im still irritated about the Darth Sidious reference in Last Jedi.

I wasn’t crazy about the name drop. Mostly because I can’t see how Luke even knows the name unless Yoda gave him a history lesson on Dagobah. And I can’t see Rey recognizing the name at all. Would even those tasked with writing the history books know a secret Sith name? I doubt the Emperor kept a personal diary that would be discovered after the Empire fell.
Some would grumble if Luke had said Palpatine, since that name was never spoken in the OT.

curious as to where you keep hearing this . Also , there seems to be a great division in all 3 trilogy fan bases , though I think we can all agree that the OT is universally loved by those here to varying degrees ( this site is called Original Trilogy after all ) though I think a lot of people see merit in the PT and ST to varying degrees , and have a desire to salvage them ,as evidenced by the many fan edits of them . I think the best thing for JJ and Co . would be to find that common ground and give us a story that balances all 3 trilogies .My bet is they title the movie either Balance Of The Force or The Unifying Force to bookend the trilogy . And yeah , those titles have been used elsewhere , but so has The Last Jedi.
