Could someone make a parady of this.....

EXT. CORUSCANT - IMPERIAL SENATE BUILDING - SUNSET

Speeders fly through the city on a quiet, normal day. The Imperial Senate building comes into view, shimmering in the sunset.

INT. IMPERIAL SENATE BUILDING - SENATE CHAMBERS

MON MOTHMA and her aides, late for a special session of the Senate, walk into the Chandrilla Senate Pod. Next to EMPEROR PALPATINE stands his Grand Vizor, SATE PESTAGE and MAS AMMEDA.

PALPATINE: ...as I had come before you two decades earlier, I told you of the betrayal of the Jedi Knights.

Some Senators applaud.

PALPATINE (Continued): We agreed that the best way to deal with a corrupt body was to see it's dismantling.

Mon Mothma thinks for a moment.

MON MOTHMA: No...

PALPATINE (Continued): Instead of announcing my plans for the Senate's next ten years, I am announcing that this body will be dismantled immediately.

Gasps and uproar are heard amongst the Senators

MAS AMMEDA: Order...Order!

PALPATINE (Continued): There are some among you that will stop at nothing to see the Empire die! This body is hereby destroyed, just as traitors twenty years earlier were, for a safe and secure society that will last for years to come!

The Senator from Mon Calamari stands.

SENATOR: Emperor Palpatine! This is madness! You cannot maintain control without us!

PALPATINE: Back down, Senator!

SENATOR: No! I will not back down this time! I stayed silent during the formation of the Empire, but I will not stand silent today! You will have to kill me first!

PALPATINE: Very well...

A shot is heard and the Senator falls out of his pod to the floor of the Senate Chamber. Stormtroopers move into each of the Senate pods. Terrified reactions can be heard throughout the chamber.

PALPATINE: Now, is there anything else that needs to be said here?

The Senators quiet down

PALPATINE (Continued): Then, for the final time...the Senate is adjourned!

Palpatine's pod descends back towards his holding office. Mon Mothma and her aides walk out the building.

EXT. IMPERIAL SENATE BUILDING - NIGHT

Mon Mothma and her aides walk towards a shuttle.

MON MOTHMA (to Aide): Contact Viceroy Organa on Alderaan. Tell him what has taken place...tell him that democracy is dead. And, be sure to tell him to be careful.

AIDE: Yes, m'lady.

Mon Mothma takes one last look at the Senate building as a reminder of democracies past. She boards a shuttle and heads off into the distance.

The correct spelling is "parody"

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side

Emperor Jar-Jar
“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

You mean Mon Mothma IS in the movie? I didn't spotted her... and I tried hard. I vividly remember the whole hype before movie release, they had shown us the actress etc.
Just as Tarkin was reduced to what? 2-3 seconds?
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

No... this can't be episode 3... this scene has to occur during episode 4, after the death star is complete, the empire has enough power to abolish the senate...

I know it's off-topic, but since someone's brought it up... when did Mon Mothma appear in Episode III? She is listed in the credits, but I've seen the movie twice, and I have yet to find her at all.

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Gaffer Tape,
The scene was cut, she stood with a number of other senators (including Padme) to present a letter to Palpatine that discussed their distaste with his gained powers.

Now, just a handful of things about this scene that Kev created:
1. By the time of ANH, the Mon Calamari race would have been considered inferior by the xenophobic emperor. No way there would be one in the Senate. Ackbar was Tarkin's slave until he was freed during a rebel attack.

2. I'm not 100% on the time frame, so I could be wrong. I think Mon Mothma was run out of the Senate for openly supporting the rebellion before ANH. In fact, her homeworld of Chandrila was attacked because of what she said.

It was discussed during the Jedi Academy series, I believe.

Here's part of the CUSWE entry that discusses it:
Quote

He was serving as an officer in the Mon Calamarian Navy until he was captured when the Empire took over Calamari, and was presented to Grand Moff Tarkin as a personal slave. He followed Tarkin around everywhere, all the while collecting information about the Imperial war machine, in hopes that he could escape and provide the knowledge to the Alliance. He gained limited knowledge about the Death Star in this fashion, enough to make him fear for the safety and future of the galaxy. When Tarkin decided to move to a permanent post on the Death Star, Ackbar was to be brought along with him. However, Tarkin's shuttle was attacked by an elite force whose goal was to assassinate Tarkin. They failed only when an Imperial Star Destroyer arrived to drive off the attackers, but they managed to rescue Ackbar in the attack. From that point on, Ackbar served the Alliance faithfully, using his knowledge of Imperial doctrine wherever possible.

I've read a good portion of the EU books at least once, most of what I've read has been 2 or 3 times. I've got a fair sized library:

starkiller, I just want to thank you for providing that info and all that hassle you had to endure.
You have my many thanks.

Kev,
No hassle. The online search just took a couple minutes. I do this kind of stuff all the time for the Star Wars Combine.

greencapt,
If you want a decent summary of events, that Essential Chronology is a good book, though it includes nothing from EP2, EP3 or the New Jedi Order (Vong) books. if you want overkill, though, theforce.net has the "Ultimate Timeline".
