The playing up of the “end of the Skywalker Saga” is putting a ton of pressure on this film to wrap up an 8 film juggernaut. It also pretty much confirms that Kylo gonna die.

I really don’t get why people are saying that. Before Disney, people would’ve said the Skywalker Saga ended with RotJ, and Luke didn’t die in that. It’s not the end of the Skywalker lineage; it’s the end of a saga that just so happens to be in large part about the Skywalkers.

Before Disney, I think people more than likely would have said the story of Anakin Skywalker ended. After the prequels, the 6 films had a purpose and were tied up nicely. Before the prequels, the 3 films had a purpose (destroy the Empire) and were tied up nicely. By making this the conclusion of the “Skywalker Saga” , what is the main arc they are trying to wrap up? That the Skywalkers suck and the galaxy should be rid of them? Luke’s dead. Leia likely will die. That leaves Ben. If he is redeemed, then it is just Anakin’s story all over again without the 30 years of being the 2nd baddest dude in the galaxy and the 20 some years before that of being a Jedi warrior.

That doesn’t mean to criticize a film they haven’t even filmed yet. I just don’t see a) what there is to wrap up of the entire saga vs just wrapping up this trilogy and b) that there is no way they don’t continue this story in a decade with these characters/cast.

So, to me, the only way this “concludes the Skywalker Saga” is if the Skywalker bloodline ends with this film.
