However, the term is also sometimes used to refer to transwomen, and that is almost always seen as fucked up. Because of the three different definitions and connotations, it’s often hard to get a grasp on what exactly the term means.

JEDIT: That refers to transgender people rather than transvestite people but I thought the concept (re: trap) was the same.

JEDIT2: I understand the definitions of transgender get a bit confusing so I might be slightly off myself. I’m willing to admit it if so and correct my stance…but that’s in regards to terms like transgender and transvestite. Not in regards to trap, which is clearly an insult.
